Communication is a social phenomenon. Itensures the personal existence of individual sand the continuation of relations within the society. In family communication, the ability of family members to underst and eachot her, to support eachot her, and to make the right directions depends on a healthy communication. This study was approved by Muş Alparslan University Scientific Research and Publication Ethics Committee with the decision dated 31.10.2023 and 115131. In thisstudy, it was tried to determine the communication problems of university students witht heir parents. In this direction, data were obtainedusing quantitative research method. A questionnaire wasapplied to 390 students studying at Muş Alparslan University in order to determine the levels of universitystudents' educational life, friends and social environment and communication within the family. According to the data obtained, it is seen that the participants' educational lives are under the close monitoring of the family, they feel family pressure to study more, academic success is compared with others by family members, and the family is not in contact with the counselor (responsible educator). It was also found that there were problems with the family in choosing friends, there were problem swith the family in choosing clothes, the family careda bout the thoughts of the individual, and feelings were not openly expressed to thefamily. Inaddition, it was determined that parents did not discriminate between siblings, obeying family rules was important fort he family, family members were interested in problems and cared about the person.
