Physician, Master in Pharmacology, and PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the National University of Colombia. He completed his postdoctoral fellowship at Ludwig Maximilian University in Germany in 2023, and in 2024 he was awarded an Erasmus scholarship to represent Universidad del Rosario as a visiting professor at Inönü University in Türkiye. He is an Associate Professor and Head of the Pharmacology Unit at Universidad del Rosario, where he has been honored as a Distinguished Professor, Honorary Peer Tutor, and twice with the Calatrava Order of Labor Merit. He has been recognized as a Senior Researcher by the Colombian Ministry of Health and Sciences. He is a member of various national and international scientific societies and editorial boards, and currently serves as Guest Editor of Therapeutic Advances in Drug Safety.
