Oidipus kompleksi psikanalizin en önemli konularından birini oluşturur. Sigmund Freud’un Sophokles’in Kral Oidipus adlı eserinden hareketle isimlendirdiği oidipus kompleksinde çocukların karşı cins ebeveyne cinsel arzu aynı cins ebeveyne karşı ise nefret duyduğu fikri yer alır. Sigmund Freud, erkek çocuklarının anneye cinsel arzu duyduğunu babalarını ise rakip olarak görerek ondan nefret ettiklerini ve onu ortadan kaldırma isteğinde olduklarını söyler. Annenin fallusu olmayı arzulayan çocuk fallusunu kaybedeceği korkusuyla ensest yasağına boyun eğer ve anneye arzusunu bilinçdışına iterek baba ile özdeşleşme yoluna gider. Babayla gizli bir barış anlaşması olan özdeşleşme çocuğun toplumsal alanda var olmasının yolunu da açar. Türk edebiyatının önemli yazarlarından biri olan Pınar Kür’ün Akışı Olmayan Sular adlı öykü kitabının ilk öyküsü olan “Biraz Daha Ölmek”te oidipus kompleksiyle karşılaşılır. Öyküde oidipus kompleksi öykünün ana karakteri olan Erdoğan üzerinden ele alınmıştır. Çalışmada anneye duyulan cinsel arzu ve bu arzunun bastırılması, babayla özdeşleşememe, çözümlenmeyen oidipus kompleksi ve bunun Erdoğan’ın hayatındaki etkileri üzerinde durulmuştur.
The Oedipus complex constitutes one of the most significant concepts in psychoanalysis. Coined by Sigmund Freud with reference to Sophocles' tragedy King Oedipus, the concept is based on the idea that children experience sexual desire toward the parent of the opposite sex and hostility toward the parent of the same sex. According to Freud, male children develop libidinal desires toward their mothers and perceive their fathers as rivals, leading to feelings of hostility and an unconscious wish to remove the paternal figure. The child, who unconsciously aspires to become the mother’s phallus, submits to the incest taboo out of fear of losing his own phallus and represses his desire for the mother into the unconscious. Consequently, the child proceeds to identify with the father, which also leads to the child’s integration into the societal domain through this identification. In Turkish literature, Pınar Kür, one of the country’s most prominent authors, engages with this theme in the opening story “Biraz Daha Ölmek” (“To Die a Little More”) from her short story collection Akışı Olmayan Sular (Waters Without Flow). In this narrative, the Oedipus complex is explored through the main character, Erdoğan. The study focuses on the protagonist’s sexual desire for the mother and its repression, his failure to achieve identification with the father, the unresolved Oedipus complex, and the implications of these dynamics for Erdoğan’s life.
