<p>Parenting styles are among the most significant factors shaping children&#039;s emotional, social, cognitive, and behavioral development. The way parents exercise discipline, show affection and warmth, and guide their children directly influences their self-regulation skills, self-confidence, academic success, and social relationships. Another critical factor affecting children&#039;s healthy development is parents&#039; self-regulation skills. Parents with higher self-regulation abilities tend to adopt more positive parenting practices, contributing to their children&#039;s well-being and strengthening family dynamics. This study examines the relationship between self-regulation skills and parenting styles among parents of children aged 3-5. The study employed a quantitative research design using the relational survey model. Data were collected from 314 parents through two instruments:&quot;Multidimensional Assessment of Parenting Scale&quot; and the &quot;Me as a Parent: Parenting Self-Regulation Scale.&quot; Findings revealed a significant positive relationship between parental self-regulation and positive parenting styles, while a negative relationship was observed with negative parenting styles. Additionally, parental age and children&#039;s preschool attendance influenced both parenting styles and parental self-regulation skills. Parents&#039; education level, number of children, and economic status also had significant effects on parenting styles. These findings highlight the importance of self-regulation in shaping parenting behaviors and suggest that demographic factors contribute to variations in parenting approaches.</p></trans-abstract>
