Seaweeds which have widespread use economically are also a basic or alternative food source for humans. Some species of seaweeds with bioaccumulation ability are used for the monitoring of pollutants in marine ecosystems. In this paper, some seaweed species which accumulate toxic and carcinogenic arsenic are mentioned.
