Artificial Intelligence-Assisted Sustainable Design Pedagogy in Architectural Education
Abstract
The primary goal of this research is to investigate how analytical tools that are assisted by artificial intelligence (AI) impact the level of awareness about sustainable design in the field of architecture education. I carried out this research project during the course of a brief internship at an architectural firm, and I made sure to follow the guidelines of studio-based learning. I was presented with AI-based digital tools that allowed me to examine the energy efficiency, natural lighting, material choices, and carbon impact of my ideas. Project outcomes were assessed, and interviews were carried out as part of this mixed-methods research study, which used both qualitative and quantitative approaches. The findings of the study showed that AI technologies bolster and provide evidence of individuals' proficiency in making decisions based on data and their capacity to be aware of sustainability. The three-stage model that is suggested by the study consists of the following stages: awareness, analysis, and adaptation. The significance of sustainability pedagogy that is supported by technology in the context of architecture education is emphasized by the study.
