Bu araştırmanın amacı, Sakarya ilinde yaşayan yerel halkın spor turizmine yönelik tutumları ile turizm algılarını belirlemek ve bu iki değişken arasındaki ilişkiyi incelemektir. İlişkisel tarama modelinin benimsendiği araştırmaya Sakarya ilinde yaşayan 199’u kadın 194’ ü erkek toplam 393 birey katılım göstermiştir. Araştırmada veriler, Kişisel Bilgi Formu, Spor Turizmine Yönelik Tutum Ölçeği ve Turizm Gelişim Etkileri Algısı Ölçeği kullanılarak elde edilmiştir. Verilerin analizinde Pearson korelasyon ve çoklu doğrusal regresyon analizi tercih edilmiştir. Araştırma bulgularına göre; Korelasyon analizleri, spor turizmine yönelik tutumun özellikle sosyo-kültürel ve ekonomik pozitif etkiler ile orta düzeyde ve anlamlı ilişkiler içinde olduğunu, sosyo-kültürel negatif etkiler ile ise negatif yönde ilişkilendiğini ortaya koymuştur. Regresyon analizi sonuçları da bu bulguları destekler niteliktedir. Kurulan regresyon modelinin istatistiksel olarak anlamlı olduğu ve bağımsız değişkenlerin spor turizmine yönelik tutumdaki toplam varyansın yaklaşık %42’sini açıkladığı belirlenmiştir. Model kapsamında sosyo-kültürel pozitif etkiler, spor turizmine yönelik tutumun en güçlü yordayıcısı olarak öne çıkarken; ekonomik pozitif etkiler ve turizme verilen destek tutumu pozitif yönde anlamlı biçimde yordamaktadır. Buna karşılık, sosyo-kültürel negatif etkilerin spor turizmine yönelik tutum üzerinde negatif ve anlamlı bir etkiye sahip olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Bu sonuçlar, yerel halkın spor turizmine yönelik tutumlarının büyük ölçüde algılanan olumlu sosyo-kültürel ve ekonomik katkılar tarafından şekillendiğini göstermektedir.
The purpose of this study is to determine the attitudes of local residents living in Sakarya province toward sports tourism and their perceptions of tourism, as well as to examine the relationship between these two variables. A correlational research design was adopted, and a total of 393 individuals residing in Sakarya participated in the study, including 199 females and 194 males. Data were collected using the Personal Information Form, the Attitude Scale Toward Sports Tourism, and the Perceived Effects of Tourism Development Scale. Pearson correlation analysis and multiple linear regression analysis were employed to analyze the data. According to the findings, correlation analyses revealed that attitudes toward sports tourism were moderately and positively associated with socio-cultural and economic positive impacts, while a negative and significant relationship was found with socio-cultural negative impacts. The results of the regression analysis supported these findings, indicating that the established regression model was statistically significant and that the independent variables explained approximately 42% of the total variance in attitudes toward sports tourism. Within the model, socio-cultural positive impacts emerged as the strongest predictor of attitudes toward sports tourism, while economic positive impacts and support for tourism also significantly and positively predicted attitudes toward sports tourism. In contrast, socio-cultural negative impacts were found to have a significant and negative effect on attitudes toward sports tourism. These findings suggest that local residents’ attitudes toward sports tourism are largely shaped by perceived positive socio-cultural and economic contributions.
