<p>This study aims to examine the panoptic structure of digitalization in the age of artificial intelligence and to analyze the psychological effects of digital surveillance on individuals. In this context, it discusses how digital socialization and visual communication environments shaped by artificial intelligence create a regime of discipline over individuals, what psychological effects this regime produces, and how it reflects on learning processes. The study questions the impact of individuals’ visibility, constant traceability, and visual representations in digital environments on psychosocial dynamics such as self-discipline, anxiety, stress, and the perception of freedom. In particular, digital visual communication tools (such as social media posts, avatars, profile arrangements, and AI-generated images) transform both the ways individuals represent themselves and the relationship they establish with surveillance mechanisms. This not only shapes subjective experiences but also contributes to the reproduction of digital surveillance and disciplinary systems. In this framework, the main research question is: “How do AI-supported digital socialization and visual communication environments produce mechanisms of surveillance and discipline over individuals, and how do these mechanisms shape their psychological experiences?” The study examines how panoptic structures, framed within Michel Foucault’s concepts of surveillance and power, reshape society and individuals through texts, visuals, and technological systems produced on digital platforms.</p></trans-abstract>
