                            <p>The continuous development of technology ensures that all instrumentsused by individuals gain a more functional quality and play a role in providingnew opportunities to the service of people. Especially the rapid development ofcommunication technologies and the change in parallel directly affect thecommunication habits and life practices of people.In today&#039;s world, almost one in every two people is an internet user;social media is an environment where people can share their opinions andthoughts through the internet. This study aims to investigate the impact ofYouTube, which is categorized as user-centric content sites among social mediaplatforms, on users. In this study which is addressed within the framework ofuses and gratifications theory, field research was used, and questionnairetechnique was used in data collection. The data obtained from the research wasanalyzed in SPSS, and the findings were interpreted. The study shows that thenew generation is more prone to and acquainted with using YouTube and creatingcontent, therefore, suggests that YouTube will become a more important media inthe future.</p></trans-abstract>
                                                                                                                                    <abstract><p>Teknolojinin sürekligelişmesi; bireylerin kullandığı her türlü aracın daha işlevsel bir nitelikkazanmasını sağlamakta ve yeni olanakların insanların hizmetine sunulmasındarol oynamaktadır. Özellikle bilişim teknolojilerindeki hızlı gelişim ve bunaparalel olarak yaşanan değişim insanların iletişim alışkanlıklarını ve yaşampratiklerini doğrudan etkilemektedir.Dünyada ve Türkiye’deneredeyse her iki kişiden birinin internet kullanıcısı olduğu günümüzde sosyalmedya insanların görüş ve düşüncelerini internetten paylaşabildikleri bir ortamsunmaktadır. Bu çalışma, sosyal medya platformları içerisinde, kullanıcı merkezliiçerik siteleri olarak kategorize edilen YouTube’un kullanım motivasyonlarınıaraştırmayı amaçlamaktadır. Kullanımlar ve doyumlar kuramı çerçevesinde elealınan bu çalışmada alan araştırması yöntemi uygulanmış, verilerin eldeedilmesinde ise anket tekniği kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda elde edilenverilerin SPSS’de analizi yapılarak, ortaya çıkan bulgular yorumlanmıştır.Çalışma YouTube’u yeni neslin kullanmaya daha yatkın ve aşina olduğunugöstermekte, dolayısıyla bu sosyal medya platformunun sosyal medyakullanıcıları açısından gelecekte daha da önem verilen bir mecra halinegeleceğini düşündürmektedir.</p></abstract>
