THE EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATION OF THE VISCOSITY OF THE AL2O3 NANOFLUID

Abstract

Nanofluids have recently been the subject of interest from researchers in parallel with the developments in nanotechnology. In most of the calculations related to nanofluids, it is necessary to determine their thermophysical properties accurately. The accurate determination of viscosity, which is one of the thermophysical properties of nanofluids, is very important, especially for heat transfer practices. In the study, the viscosity values of the nanofluids in different temperatures, which were prepared by adding Al2O3 nanoparticles in gamma phase with volumetric ratios of 0.4%, 0.8%, 1.2% and 1.6% into distilled water, were determined experimentally and the results were presented comparatively with literature.
