<p>Adherence to Diet and Fluid Restriction of Hemodialysis Patients From the Hemodialysis Nurses’ Perspective: A Qualitative StudyAbstractObjective: This study aims to anaylze the adherence to diet and fluid restriction of hemodialysis patients from the hemodialysis nurses’ perspective. Methods: The phenomenological approach, one of the qualitative research methods, was used in the study. The data were collected through in-depth interviews with 6 hemodialysis nurses. A semi-structured interview form was utilised for data collection and the principles of data saturation were complied. Data analysis was carried out by two researchers by being used thematic data analysis with an inductive approach in the MaxQda 2020 pro programme and reported in accordance with checklist criteria of the consolidated criteria for reporting qualitative research (COREQ).Results: As a result of the thematic analysis of the data, three themes and 10 subthemes were obtained. These themes were 1) sources of motivation increasing adherence, 2) difficulties in adherence and 3) efforts for adherence to fluid and dietary restriction. Conclusion: Hemodialysis nurses continuously tutorize and provide care in order to increase patients&#039; adherence to diet and fluid restriction. The results of this study may supply information about the development and practice of nursing care to be given to HD patients to improve their adherence to diet and fluid restriction in the future. Furthermore, the education of individuals who provide home care to HD patients and nursing care for improving communication with other patients will contribute much more to the continuity of treatment and care in coordination with them, psychosocial support of family and health personnel to ensure and carry on the patient&#039;s motivation, development of patient-specific individualised self-management strategies and to improve the adherence in patients.</p></trans-abstract>
