A study on operation of hydroelectric power plants constructed on irrigation canal

Öz

Nowadays, it is very important to co-operate of irrigation services and canal Hydroelectric Power Plants built by taking advantage of the drops on the irrigation canals. Irrigation canals in some irrigation schemes serve both irrigation and energy production. Therefore, it is important that the built canal is operated together for optimum irrigation service and energy production. In this study, Hydroelectric Power Plants constructed integrated with irrigation schemes in recent years by private companies and State Hydraulic Works in Turkey were examined. Technical, environmental and management problems encountered in the co-operation of Irrigation and Hydroelectric Power Plants were analyzed, and suitable solutions were offered for sustainable irrigation services and Hydroelectric Power Plant operation. Hydroelectric Power Plants built on canal of irrigation schemes should be operated in harmony with the environment and sustainably. But, if irrigation channels and hydroelectric power plants do not work together in harmony, they will cause important problems in terms of environment, operation and maintenance, administrative, monitoring and evaluation. To ensure the sustainability of hydroelectric power generation and to use existing water resources more efficiently for irrigation activities, it is very important to find permanent and effective solutions to these problems that arise while operating these systems.

Sulama kanalları üzerine inşa edilen hidroelektrik santrallerin işletilmesi üzerine bir çalışma

Öz

Son yıllarda, ülkemizde sulama kanalları üzerindeki düşülerden yararlanarak inşa edilen kanal Hidroelektrik Santralleri ve sulama hizmetlerinin birlikte işletilmesi oldukça önemlidir. Bazı sulama şebekelerinde inşa edilen sulama kanalları hem sulama hem de enerji üretimi için kullanılmaktadır. Bu nedenle, inşa edilen sulama kanalının verimli sulama hizmeti ve enerji üretimi için birlikte işletilmesi önemlidir. Bu çalışmada, Devlet Su İşleri ve özel şirketler tarafından sulama şebekeleriyle birlikte işletilen Hidroelektrik Santraller incelenmiştir. Sulama ve Hidroelektrik Santralin birlikte işletimesinde karşılaşılan teknik, çevresel ve yönetsel sorunlar analiz edilmiş, sürdürülebilir sulama ve hidroelektrik santral işletmesi için uygun çözüm önerileri sunulmuştur. Sonuç olarak, kanal ve sulama şebekeleri üzerine inşa edilen Hidroelektrik Santraller çevre ile uyumlu olarak verimli bir şekilde işletilmelidir. Ancak, sulama hizmetleri ve hidroelektrik santraller birlikte uyum içinde işletilmezse, çevre, işletme ve bakım, yönetim, izleme ve değerlendirme sorunlarına yol açacaktır. Hidroelektrik üretiminin sürdürülebilirliğini sağlamak ve sulamada su kaynaklarını daha verimli kullanmak için işletme sürecinde ortaya çıkan bu sorunlara kalıcı ve etkin çözümler bulmak çok önemlidir.
