An investigation of teachers’ views on material and technology supported teaching of analytical geometry course
Abstract
This research aimed to examine teachers' opinions regarding material and technology-supported analytic geometry teaching. The research employed a case study design, one of the qualitative research methods. The sample of the study consisted of 12 mathematics teachers studying at a state university in the Eastern Black Sea Region. The participants were determined using the purposeful sampling method. Data were collected with a semi-structured interview form and diaries, and analyzed by content analysis. The findings highlighted that the teachers in the sample stated that learning the analytical geometry course with material and technology support contributed to the teaching process. In addition, they stated that visualization and concretization were effective in learning and that the method used was most useful in learning the subject of vectors.
