<p>This study analyzes the impact of digitalization on regional economic development in Türkiye and examines whether this effect is amplified by household-based human capital accumulation. In the literature on digitalization and economic growth, the studies are generally limited to the analysis of macroeconomic factors such as infrastructure investments, productivity levels of firms, and labor market indicators. In this study, the digitalization process of the Turkish economy is examined, placing the family not as a passive structure, but as an active economic agent that affects the mechanisms of economic decision-making, thereby aiming to expand the discussion on this issue. Panel data analysis is conducted using annual data for Türkiye’s NUTS Level-1 regions over the 2014–2024 period. The findings reveal that digitalization has a positive and statistically significant effect on regional income levels, and that its economic returns increase with higher levels of human capital. These results suggest that regional development policies should combine digital infrastructure investments with family-oriented human capital strategies.</p></trans-abstract>
