Abû Ya‘lâ al-Ferrâ, one of the most important representatives ofSalafiyya sect, is recognized as a scholar who lead combining theologicalmethod with science school which it is affiliated. The author who began his theological work withthe epistemology like other theologians is reported the idea on issues such as thedefinition of science, parts, sources, possibility and recognition of God. In this issue while pursuing the epistemology of the Asharite, especially Baqıllani'sunderstanding of science has criticized more Mu'tazilite approach. Inexplaining the issues has given place to the rational arguments under theinfluence of theological method used, especially in relationto information provided by the mutawatir news has special significanceto overcome the doubts raised. In general, in theepistemology also is not possible to say that produce a lot of original ideas, his views on this matter is important as being the first person combines theunderstanding of Salafiyya with theological method.
Selefiyye mezhebinin önemli temsilcilerinden olan Ebû Ya‘lâ el-Ferrâ,bağlı olduğu ilmi anlayış ile kelam yöntemini birleştirmenin öncülüğünü yapmışbir âlim olarak tanınmaktadır. Kelam eserine diğer mütekellimin gibi ilimnazariyesiyle başlayan müellif, bilginin tarifi, kısımları, kaynakları, imkânıve marifetullah gibi konular hakkında fikir beyan etmiştir. Bu meselede Eş‘arîbilgi teorisini, özellikle de Bâkıllânî’nin ilim anlayışını takip ederken dahaçok Mu‘tezilî yaklaşımı eleştirmiştir. Kullandığı kelam metodunun etkisiylekonuların izahında aklî delillere de yer vermiş, özellikle mütevatir haberinsağladığı bilgi hususunda ortaya atılan şüphelerin giderilmesine özel önematfetmiştir. Genel anlamda bilgi teorisinde çok özgün fikirler ürettiğinisöylemek mümkün değilse de onun bu mesele hakkındaki görüşleri Selefiyyeanlayışını kelam metoduyla imtizaç ettiren ilk zat olması itibariyle önem arzetmektedir.
