<p>Water footprint is one of the indicators used to measure the damage that humans inflict on nature. This study aimed to calculate Türkiye&#039;s water footprint originating from animal products (meat, milk, and eggs). In the study, the green, blue, and grey water footprints were calculated for five different animal products (milk, beef, sheep-goat meat, chicken meat, and eggs) for the year 2023 in Türkiye. We calculated that, the total water footprint of animal production in Türkiye was 60.9 billion m3, of which 42.3% was from cattle meat, 33.4% is cow&#039;s milk, 12.5% chicken meat, 6.9% eggs, and the remaining 5% is sheep-goat meat. We also found that 87.2% of the total water footprint calculated from animal production in Türkiye consists of green, 6.7% consists of grey and 6.1% consists of blue water footprint. In conclusion, the water footprint of animal production in Türkiye has been calculated, revealing that measures should be taken and future plans made regarding water use at all stages, from production to consumption, starting with individuals in society and extending to farms and various sectors.</p></trans-abstract>
