Süt Sığırı Yetiştiriciliğinde Doğum Localarının Önemi

Öz

Süt sığırı yetiştiriciliği yapan işletmelerde, önemli ekonomik kayıplardan bazıları buzağı ölümleri, hastalıkları ve güç doğumlardır. Bu sorunlarla karşılaşma oranının düşürülmesi hem buzağı kayıplarını hem de veteriner hekim masraflarını azaltacak aynı zamanda işletmenin karlılığını da arttıracaktır. İyi bir sürü idaresi programının uygulanması ve gebe hayvanların düzenli olarak izlenmesi bu sorunlarla karşılaşma oranını düşürebilir. Doğuma yakın bir zamanda doğum için özel olarak ayrılmış bir bölmeye alınan hayvanların daha az stresli ve temiz bir ortamda doğum yapmaları sağlanmış olur. Ayrıca; sürü dışına alınan gebe hayvanın daha rahat gözlemlenebilmesi sonucu, olası bir güç doğumda daha çabuk ve yerinde bir müdahale yapılması mümkün olur. Bu derlemede; süt sığırı yetiştiriciliğinde doğum locaları ve önemi hakkında bilgi verilmesi amaçlanmıştır
