Order in public life can’t be achieved only by obeying laws. Members of society need the unifying power of common values. The importance of education in the establishment of common values is undeniable. Children’s literature makes major contributions to the acquisition of values in children’s education. Fairy tales and stories are among the key literary genres of children’s literature. The purpose of this study was to analyse the values addressed in children’s stories in the editions of the Turkish Children’s Magazine Gürbüz (Turkish title: Gürbüz Türk Çocuğu Dergisi) published between 1928 and 1930. To this end, it used a qualitative descriptive research design. According to the results of the analysis of the stories, the most commonly addressed value is love and the least commonly addressed value is peace. The analysis results also showed that the values of saving, aesthetics, and leadership are included in the stories to a great extent, while the values empathy, tolerance, and humility are included to a lesser extent.
