Postcesarean vulvar thrombophlebitis in a low-risk patient: A case report

Öz

Thrombophlebitis, which can be seen during pregnancy and the postpartum period, may rarely cause pulmonary embolism, which is one of the most common causes of postpartum maternal deaths. A 32-year-old multiparous woman with complaints of pain, swelling and erythema on the vulva and right femur medial surface was admitted to the outpatient clinic. Her initial gynaecological anamnesis presented that she had a cesarean delivery at our clinic one week ago. Vulvar thrombophlebitis, which was detected via examinations and laboratory investigations, was successfully treated with a combination of analgesics, antibiotics and anticoagulants. Vulvar thrombophlebitis is a considerable disease that can be seen during the postpartum period in patients who deliver via cesarean section, and it can be successfully treated with medical treatments.

Düşük riskli hastada sezaryen sonrası vulvar tromboflebit: Olgu sunumu

Öz

Gebelik ve postpartum dönemde görülebilen tromboflebit, postpartum anne ölümlerinin en sık sebeplerinden biri olan pulmoner emboliye nadiren de olsa sebep olabilmektedir. Otuz iki yaşında multipar bayan hasta, polikliniğimize vulvar ve sağ femoral bölge iç yüzünde ağrı, şişlik ve kızarıklık şikâyetleri ile başvurdu. Anamnezinden bir hafta önce kliniğimizde sezaryen ile doğum yaptığı öğrenildi. Yapılan muayene ve tetkikler sonucunda saptanan vulvar tromboflebit analjezik, antibiyotik ve antikoagülan kombinasyonu ile başarılı bir şekilde tedavi edildi. Vulvar tromboflebit sezaryen ile doğum yapan olgularda postpartum dönemde görülebilen ve medikal olarak başarılı bir şekilde tedavi edilebilen önemli bir hastalıktır.
