Her öğretim kademesinde olduğu gibi ortaöğretimde de örgün eğitim sürecinin verimli olmasının ilk koşulu öğrencinin okula devamının sağlanmasıdır. Ortaöğretim okullarında öğrenci devamsızlığı son yıllarda artan bir şekilde önemli bir sorun olarak görülmektedir. Öğrenci devamsızlığı, eğitim sisteminin amaçlarının gerçekleştirilmesi açısından önemli riskleri barındırmaktadır. Bu araştırma, öğrenci, öğretmen ve velilerin bakış açılarıyla liselerde öğrenci devamsızlık nedenlerini ve çözüm önerilerini incelenmeyi amaçlamaktadır. Araştırmanın evrenini İzmir ili Karabağlar ilçesindeki tüm lise öğrencileri, öğretmenleri, yöneticileri ve velileri oluşturmaktadır. Araştırma için nicel ve nitel araştırma yaklaşımları kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada nicel verileri toplamak amacıyla Devamsızlık Nedenleri Anketi öğrenci ve öğretmen formu, araştırmacılar tarafından doküman incelemesi amacıyla geliştirilen devamsızlık bilgi formu, nitel veri toplamak amacıyla araştırmacılar tarafından geliştirilen görüşme formları kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada frekans, yüzde ve ortalama puanlar hesaplanmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda öğrenci, öğretmen ve velilere göre öğrenci devamsızlığına en çok kişisel nedenler etki etmiştir. Bu anlamda sağlık ve uyku sorunları devamsızlığa yol açmaktadır. Öğrenci devamsızlık nedenleri olarak ikinci sırada, öğrenciler öğretmenden kaynaklanan nedenleri, öğretmenler ise aileden kaynaklanan nedenleri ön plana çıkarmışlardır. Araştırmada Mesleki ve Teknik Anadolu Lisesi öğrencileri, erkek öğrenciler ve 11.sınıftaki öğrenciler daha yüksek devamsızlık yaptıkları ortaya çıkmıştır. Öğrenci ve veliler devamsızlığın azaltılması için önerilerde bulunmuşlardır. Devamsızlığın azaltılması için okullarda sosyal, sportif ve kültürel etkinliklerin artırılması, okul ders saatlerinin yeniden düzenlenmesi ve ders sayısının azaltılması önerilmektedir.
As in every education level, the first condition for the formal education process to be efficient in high school is to ensure the student's attendance at school. Student absenteeism in high schools has increasingly been seen as an important problem in recent years. Student absenteeism poses significant risks in terms of achieving the goals of the education system. This research aims to examine the reasons for student absenteeism and solution suggestions in high schools from the perspectives of students, teachers and parents. The population of the research consists of all high school students, teachers and parents in the Karabağlar district of Izmir. Quantitative and qualitative research approaches were used in the research. In order to collect quantitative data in the study, the Reasons for Absence Survey student and teacher form, the absenteeism information form developed by the researchers for document review, and the interview forms developed by the researchers to collect qualitative data were used. In the research, frequency, percentage and average scores were calculated. As a result of the research, according to students, teachers and parents, personal reasons were the most influential on student absenteeism. In this sense, health and sleep problems lead to absenteeism. In the second place as the reasons for student absenteeism, students highlighted the reasons stemming from the teacher, and teachers highlighted the reasons stemming from the family. The research revealed that Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School students, male students and students in the 11th grade had higher absenteeism. Students and parents made suggestions to reduce absenteeism. In order to reduce absenteeism, it is recommended to increase social, sports and cultural activities in schools, rearrange school lesson hours and reduce the number of lessons.
