<p>The purpose of this study was to examine the temporal changes in mindfulness, social appearance anxiety and psychological well-being in sports science students who participated in elective Pilates classes, compared to those who did not engage in regular exercise. The study employed a pre-test-post-test quasi-experimental design with a control group. A total of 45 university students participated in the study (experimental group = 22; control group = 23). The experimental group consisted of sport sciences students who participated in elective Pilates classes for 10 weeks, while the control group consisted of bachelor’s students who did not participate in any form of regular exercise. Both groups completed the Mindful Attention Awareness Scale, the Social Appearance Anxiety Scale and the Psychological Well-Being Scale before and after the 10-week intervention. In the analysis of the data, the Wilcoxon signed-rank test and the Mann-Whitney U test were used as non-parametric tests. The results showed that there were no significant differences between the experimental and control groups in pre-test measure of mindfulness, social appearance anxiety, and psychological well-being scores (p&amp;gt;0.05). The post-test measurements revealed that the experimental group’s levels of mindfulness differed significantly from those of the control group (p&amp;lt;0.05). However, no significant differences were observed between the groups in terms of social appearance anxiety and psychological well-being in the posttest measurements (p&amp;gt; 0.05). Within-group comparisons showed no significant differences between pre- and post-test scores for the three variables in either the experimental and control group (p&amp;gt;0.05). In conclusion, it can be stated that the level of mindfulness among sports science students may increase following a 10-week elective Pilates course.</p></trans-abstract>
