In this article, I explore key features of Heidegger’s anlaysis of world drawingmainly on the Being and Time, Heidegger’s magnus opus. I address therebyHeidegger’s hermeneutical phenomenology of “being-in-the-world” (In-der-Welt-Sein). By discussing the analysis of world presented in the Being and TimeI try to understand Heidegger’s attempt at overcoming dependence on consciousnesswhich characterizes the modern philosophy up to Husserl. The phenomenonof world, I try to show, requires that we conceive of man not in terms of immanenceor presence, but in terms of exteriority, that is, as existence.
</trans-abstract>
