                            <p>In this study, infrared drying characteristic of sunflower seeds was investigated. The drying experiments were performed in the infrared dryer and in the temperature range of 50-80 °C. It was determined that all the drying process of sunflower seeds occurred in the falling rate period. The values of diffusion coefficient at the temperatures studied were calculated as 1.109x10-10, 1.118x10-10, 1.162x10-10, 1.333x10-10 m2/s. The experimental moisture ratio values were compared with theoretical drying equations (Newton, Page, and Diffusion) commonly used in literature. As a result, it was found that the most available model for the infrared drying was Diffusion model</p></trans-abstract>
                                                                                                                                    <abstract><p>Bu çalışmada, ayçiçeği tohumlarının infrared kuruma karakteristiği incelendi. Kurutma deneyleri laboratuar tipi bir infrared kurutucuda 50-80 °C sıcaklık aralığında yürütüldü. Deneysel verilerden ayçiçeği tohumu örneklerinin azalan hız periyodunda kuruduğu belirlendi. Çalışılan sıcaklıklardaki difüzyon katsayısı değerleri 1.109x10-10, 1.118x10-10, 1.162x10-10, 1.333x10-10 m2/s olarak hesaplandı. Deneysel nem oranı değerleri literatürde yaygın olarak kullanılan teorik kuruma denklemleriyle (Newton, Page ve Difüzyon) kıyaslandı.
