<p>This study aims to reveal the academic orientations, trends, and research foci in the field by examining doctoral dissertations written on 21st-century skills in Türkiye. The concept of 21st-century skills encompasses a broad set of competencies—such as critical thinking, problem solving, communication, collaboration, creativity, digital literacy, lifelong learning, and innovation—that are essential for individuals to adapt to rapidly changing social, technological, and economic conditions and to become productive and engaged members of society. These skills have become central components of contemporary educational paradigms and are increasingly prioritized in national curricula, including in Türkiye. A total of 32 doctoral dissertations published between 2017 and 2023 in the National Thesis Center of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), focusing on 21st-century skills, were analyzed through descriptive analysis. The dissertations were classified according to various criteria, including year of publication, university type, academic discipline, research topic, methodology, model, sample group, data collection tools, and analysis techniques. The findings indicate a notable increase in academic interest in 21st-century skills in recent years, with a particular concentration on student-centered themes and studies rooted in educational sciences. However, the results also reveal a relative scarcity of research focusing on teacher competencies, curriculum development, and assessment and evaluation. Overall, the study underscores the need to promote interdisciplinary approaches and to support practice-oriented research in order to enrich the field and strengthen the integration of 21st-century competencies into educational practices.</p></trans-abstract>
