<p>Aim: It is aimed to contribute to symptomatic treatment and geriatric epidemiology by reviewing the microorganisms and antimicrobial susceptibility results reproduced in samples taken within seven years in geriatric patients receiving home health care.Material and Methods: Retrospective evaluation of microbiological samples and antimicrobial susceptibility of geriatric patients sent to Training and Research Hospital Routine Microbiology Laboratory from the home health care outpatient clinic within seven years. Results: The samples evaluated were 87% urine, 7% wound swab and 1.4% catheter (catheter used for central vein and intravenous drug treatment). The microorganism produced in the first place was Escherichia coli with 40.5% and Pseudomonas aeruginosa in the second place with 13% and Klebsiella pneumoniae with 11.5%.In antimicrobial susceptibility, carbapenem resistance was approximately 13%, penicillin resistance 100%, ampicillin resistance 78.5%, ceftriaxone resistance 50.8%, ceftazidime resistance 37.5%, quinolone resistance 50.5%.Conclusions: While the most common type of infection among community-acquired infections is urinary tract and the agent Escherichia coli, similar findings were obtained in our study. Empirical treatment can be arranged according to these results until culture results. In addition, taking samples of geriatric patients who receive home health care services by experts in the field and delivering them to the laboratory at home will provide both comfort and economic contribution to the people and institutions that provide and receive services to speed up the work. Keywords: Home health care, geriatrics, microbiological culture, antimicrobial susceptibility</p></trans-abstract>
