<p>Situations such as stress, anxiety, depression, and fear of childbirth experienced during pregnancy negatively affect the mother-fetus bonding before birth and the mother-baby bonding process in the postnatal period. Haptonomy, one of the non-pharmacological methods, is used to facilitate this process, strengthen the mother&#039;s psychology, reduce birth stress and anxiety, and increase the bond between the pregnant woman, fetus and partner. This review aims to emphasize the importance of the effect of haptonomy application on the mother, fetus and father during pregnancy. The word “hapto” comes from the term healing touch. It is also defined as the science of psychology and touch. Its basic principle is that from the moment the embryo settles in the uterus, its existence is confirmed by light touches on the fetus in the uterus through the pregnant woman&#039;s abdomen. Thanks to its developing tactile sensitivity, when the mother&#039;s womb is touched, it enables the mother and father to establish an emotional bond with the fetus during the prenatal period, thanks to the vibrations it gives to the parents. In this way, parents learn to be on the same page through real interaction in their relationships with each other and the fetus. Therefore, haptonomy is not a simple preparation, but a real path to parenthood. It is the continuation of an adventure from the beginning of pregnancy. As a result, haptonomy application enables the discovery of the fetus in the uterus and increases the emotional bonds of the mother-fetus-father trio.</p></trans-abstract>
