<p>Spine is the vital element of both musculoskeletal and neural system. Scoliosis and vertebral anomalies which occur in this part affect the individual’s life negatively. Therefore, the aim of all treatment methods is to provide a smooth and balanced spine. It is very important to know the frequency and morphology of the spine anomalies in patient with scoliosis in order to apply the appropriate and correct treatment method for the patient. In this study, the anomalies of the vertebral column of 266 patients with scoliosis were evaluated radiological retrospectively. When the incidence of scoliosis was compared according to age groups, it was determined that scoliosis was the most common 61-79 age group (p=0.01). It was observed that scoliosis was most common in the lumbar region in all age groups (p=0.001). Women and men were compared according to age groups for congenital anomaly (hemivertebra, butterfly vertebra, spina bifida, block vertebra, fusion defect, syringomyelia, Arnold–Chiari syndrome, lowconus, sprengel deformity, segmentation anomaly, spondylolisthesis, tethered cord secondery defect) that accompanying scoliosis. There was no difference in male patients (p = 0.947), however the most common anomaly in female patients was in the 0-18 age group (p = 0.000). The aim of this study was to contribute to the literatüre with the data obtained.</p></trans-abstract>
