Çalışma, kullanım kalıplarını ve potansiyel ikna edici etkileri belirleyerek, COVID-19 salgınını ifade etmek için şiddetli metaforların yaygın kullanımını tartışmayı amaçlamaktadır. Eleştirel Metafor Analiz metodolojisi aracılığıyla çalışma, COVID-19 salgınında savaş metaforların kullanımından kaynaklanan algısal sonuçları ve bunların ideolojik olarak sağlık söylemi ve siyasi pratik düzeyinde kötü kullanılma olasılığını tartışmaktadır. Çalışma bulgularıyla, COVID-19 salgınına yönelik medya söylemlerinde savaş metaforun etkinliğini doğrular, ancak olumsuz etkilerinden kaçınmak için savaş metaforlarını aşırı kullanmamayı önerir ve alternatif metaforların kullanılmasına çağırır.</p>
