Science is the process of thinking about something of interest and systematically acquiring knowledge about it. Scientific research, on theother hand, is the identification of a problem and the investigation, examination and evaluation of the subject using valid and universalscientific methods. Conducting scientific research requires responsibility and compliance with certain rules. In this context, there areethical principles that scientists should follow in the scientific research process and unethical behaviors that they should avoid. Theseare referred to as science ethics. Scientific ethics consists of scientific research, publishing and evaluation processes. Scientific researchconducted in accordance with scientific ethics will provide more reliable and objective results, making both the researchers and thediscipline of the research more valuable. Researches that are not conducted in accordance with scientific ethics not only devalue scientificwork but also harm the relevant science and society. For this reason, scientific research and publications should be carried out in accordancewith scientific ethics within the framework of accuracy, honesty, openness, fairness, responsibility and rigor. It is thought that this studywill contribute to the relevant literature in terms of explaining the ethical problems encountered in scientific research, violations and theircauses, and offering solutions for the prevention of ethical violations.
Bilim merak edilen bir şey üzerine düşünme ve onunla ilgili sistematik olarak bilgi edinme sürecidir. Bilimsel araştırma ise bir probleminortaya konulması ve geçerliliği olan evrensel bilimsel yöntemlerin kullanılarak konunun araştırılması, incelenmesi ve değerlendirilmesidir.Bilimsel araştırma yapmak, sorumluluk ve belirli kurallara uymayı gerektirmektedir. Bu bağlamda bilim insanlarının bilimsel araştırmasürecinde uyması gereken etik ilkeler ve uzak durmaları gereken etik dışı davranışlar bulunmaktadır. Bunlar, bilim etiği olarak ifadeedilmektedir. Bilim etiği, bilimsel araştırma, yayınlama ve değerlendirme süreçlerinden oluşmaktadır. Bilim etiğine uygun geçekleştirilenbilimsel araştırmalar daha güvenilir ve objektif sonuçlar vereceğinden, hem araştırmacıları hem de araştırmayı ilgilendiren bilim dalınıdaha değerli kılmaktadır. Bilim etiğine uygun yapılmayan araştırmalar ise bilimsel çalışmayı değersizleştirmekle birlikte ilgili bilim dalınave topluma da zarar vermektedir. Bu nedenle bilimsel araştırma ve yayınların bilim etiğine uygun bir şekilde doğruluk, dürüstlük, açıklık,adillik, sorumluluk ve titizlik çerçevesinde gerçekleştirilmesi gerekmektedir. Bu çalışmanın bilimsel araştırmalarda karşılaşılan etiksorunları, ihlalleri ve nedenlerini açıklama ve etik ihlallerin önlenmesine yönelik çözüm önerileri sunma noktasında ilgili literatüre katkısağlayacağı düşünülmektedir.
