The phenomenon of gender, which is the focus of global attention, has begun to take place at almost every level of formal education.Education, whose inclusiveness increases over time and addresses gender, especially in the context of “equality,” has a critical vision ofshaping students’ gender perceptions, attitudes, and behaviors. Department curricula, learning outcomes, and course resources thatmediate to realize this vision are among the teaching materials that need to be developed and improved at regular intervals. This studyaims to examine “gender-themed” courses in mental health departments, where detailed information about sex and gender is obtained,and to evaluate current trends. In order to conduct the study, a total of 97 departments from the psychology, psychological counseling andguidance, social work, and child development programs currently available on the YOKATLAS Website and a total of 42 universities withthese departments were selected. The curricula of the courses that can be accessed through university information systems, course learningoutcomes, and course resources that constitute the content of these courses were listed and subjected to content analysis. According to thefindings, while the representation of gender in university education is identified with a view focusing on women, it also includes contentthat starts to talk about LGBTI-Q. As a result of the study, suggestions were made to renew the current curricula periodically and to givethe relevant courses by academics with specific academic interests in this field to ensure that gender courses are not limited to specificpatterns and are not handled with content that standardizes generations
Küresel bir ilginin odağı olan toplumsal cinsiyet olgusu, formal eğitimin hemen hemen her kademesinde yer almaya başlamıştır.Kapsayıcılığı zaman içerisinde artan ve toplumsal cinsiyeti özellikle “eşitlik” minvalinde ele alan eğitim; öğrencilerin toplumsal cinsiyetalgılarını, tutumlarını ve davranışlarını şekillendirmek gibi çok önemli bir vizyona sahiptir. Bu vizyonu gerçekleştirmek için aracılıkeden bölüm müfredatları, öğrenme çıktıları ve ders kaynakları, belli aralıklarla geliştirilmeye ve iyileştirilmeye ihtiyaç duyulan öğretimmateryallerindendir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, cinsiyete ve toplumsal cinsiyete dair detaylıca bilgi edinilen ruh sağlığı bölümlerinde “toplumsalcinsiyet temalı” derslerin incelenmesi ve mevcut eğilimlerin değerlendirilmesidir. Çalışmanın yürütülebilmesi için YÖKATLAS Websitesinde güncel olarak yer alan psikoloji, psikolojik danışmanlık ve rehberlik, sosyal hizmet ve çocuk gelişimi programlarından toplam97 bölüm, bu bölümlere sahip olan toplam 42 üniversite seçilmiştir. Üniversite bilgi sistemlerine erişilebilen derslerin müfredatları, dersöğrenme çıktıları ve bu derslerin içeriğini oluşturan ders kaynakları listelenip içerik analizine tabii tutulmuştur. Elde edilen bulgularagöre toplumsal cinsiyetin üniversite eğitiminde temsili kadınları odak alan bir bakışla özdeşleşirken LGBTİ-Q hakkında konuşulmayabaşlanan içerikleri de kapsamaktadır. Çalışma neticesinde, toplumsal cinsiyet derslerinin belirli kalıplar üzerinde sınırlandırılmaması vejenerasyonları tek tipleştirici içeriklerle ele alınmaması adına; güncel müfredatların belli periyotlarda yenilenmesi ve ilgili derslerin bualana özgü akademik ilgisi olan akademisyenler tarafından verilmesi önerileri getirilmiştir
