Sabancı Üniversitesi’nin çekirdek eğitim programı olan Temel Geliştirme Programı özgün tasarımı ve uygulamaları ile Türkiye’de ilk kez öğrencilere diploma programlarını ikinci sene sonunda belirleme fırsatı verdi. Programın oluşumu, amaçları ve yapısına değinilen bu makalede 1999 yılında ilk öğrencilerini aldığından bugüne olan süreçte karşılaşılan zorluklar ele alınıyor ve programın başarısı değerlendiriliyor. Başarı değerlendirmesinde, program derslerinin öğrenim çıktılarının kazanımı ve öğrencilerin bilinçli ve özgür program seçimi yapabilmeleri göz önüne alınıyor
With its unique design and applications, the Foundations Development Program, which is also the core curriculum of Sabancı University has made it possible for students to determine their diploma programs at the end of their second year for the first time in Turkey. This article covers the establishment, the goals and the structure of the program and evaluates its success and the hardship faced since the acceptance of the first students in 1999. In evaluation of success, the learning outcomes of the program courses and the students’ conscious choices of diploma programs are taken into account
