Inthis study, the relationship between energy consumption and economic growth forlow and middle income groups has been examined for the period 1971-2013. Forthis purpose, the relationship between the variables is examined using Kónya panel causality test. Empirical results indicate that the hypothesis ofneutrality is mostly valid for the countries included in the low and middleincome groups. Moreover, the feedback hypothesis is valid only for Kenya. As aresult, it can be said that the direction of the causality relationship betweenenergy consumption and economic growth with country and time dimension.
</trans-abstract>
