“Gazacide”: Genocide and Crimes Against Humanity of Israel’s Holocaust in Gaza Strip

Abstract

Israel’s ruthless attacks on Gaza, which have unfolded before the eyes of all the world’s states, nations, and international organizations since 2000, have deteriorated the international political environment year after year and steadily. The most significant factors in this have been the dysfunction of international law and international organizations; thus, the familiar and relatively rational, normative, logical, humane, just, and just international system has given way to an international environment that can be described as post-truth, that is, beyond reason. The crimes against humanity, violations of humanitarian law, and war crimes committed and still committed by the State of Israel in Gaza, has given the concept of genocide a new dimension that can be described as “Gazacide” and is unique because it was carried out with a methodology completely different from all other known genocides from the 1940s to the present. This study aims to examine and analyze this new concept of genocide, which is intended to be introduced to the literature as “Gazacide,” through the lens of today’s post-truth global politics as well as the banalization and psychological frameworks of Israel’s Holocaust.
