Öz

16.yüzyılın çok önemli kitap koleksiyoncusu ve bibliyografları olan Antonio Possevino, Conrad Gessner ve Antoine Du Verdier, çağlarına damgasını vuran eserlere imza atmışlardır. Bu kişiler siyasi ve dini zıtlıkları kadar, konu kitap olunca ortak ve farklı noktaları da ön plana çıkmaktadır. Bu kişilerin ortak noktası eserlerinde döneminin Grek el yazmalarınını bulunduğu Osmanlı kütüphaneleri ile ilgilenmiş olmalarıdır. Çalışmamız, 16. yüzyılın ünlü bibliyografları AntonioPossevino, Conrad Gessner ve Antoine Du Verdier’in Osmanlı’da 16.yüzyılda özellikle Michel ve Antoni Kantakuzen kütüphanesi ve kütüphaneye ait kitapları kaydetmeleri ve bu kitapları kaydetmelerini, sebep ve etkileri üzerinden bir değerlendirme yapmayı amaçlamaktadır. Bu bibliyograflar eserlerinde Kantakuzen’lerin Osmanlı’daki şahsi kütüphaneleri ile ilgilenmişlerdir. Çalışmamız, 16. yüzyılda yaşayan Antonio Possevino, Conrad Gessner ve Antoine Du Verdier’in bibliyograf kimlikleri ile kitap tarihi çalışmalarını Osmanlı kütüphaneleri ile olan ilişkileri üzerinden incelemektedir.

16th Century Greek and Latin Manuscripts in the Ottoman Empire: “Bibliothecas” of Conrad Gessner, Antonio Possevino and Antoine Du Verdier and the “Libraries” of Cantacuzenus

Öz

Antonio Possevino, Conrad Gessner and Antoine Du Verdier, who were the leading book collectors and bibliographers of the 16th century, prepared studies that has influenced their ages. These people have political and religious contradictions as well as common and different points while the subject was the book itself. They have been involved in issues related to the Ottoman libraries which preserved the Greek and Latin manuscripts of Byzantine heritance. In our study, we aim to explain the relations of the famous bibliographers of the 16th century, Antonio Possevino, Conrad Gessner and Antoine Du Verdier’s records on Michel and Antoni Cantacuzenus library and the books of the Ottoman Empire. These bibliography experts were interested in the personal libraries of the Cantacuzenus in the Ottoman Empire. Our study examines the bibliographic identities of Antonio Possevino, ConradGessner and AntoineDuVerdierand their historicalaspects of Greek and Latin boks through their relations with Ottoman libraries.
