This study investigates the relationships between goal attainment perception (GAP), team performance (TP), and motivation potential score (MPS). Another purpose of this paper is to examine whether or not there is a mediating role for motivation potential scores in the relationship between goal attainment perception and team performance. The research was carried out in Istanbul, Turkey, and data were obtained from 54 Syrian employees in different occupational positions. Three questionnaires were used to meet that requirement. In addition, the results of the research show that goal attainment perception directly affects team performance and the motivation potential score. The motivation potential score partially mediated the relationship between goal attainment perception and team performance. The originality of the research lies in its attempt to explore the relations between employees’ goal attainment perception, motivational potential outcome, and team performance, as well as applying that model to a sample of Syrian employees residing and working in Istanbul. As far as we are aware, the combination of these variables within the specified demographic and cultural context has not been the subject of comprehensive examination in past research.
