<p>Ethics is a complex subject studied by many disciplines. Due to the nature of the social sciences and humanities, ethics has a long history in this field. In addition to philosophical debates, ethics comes to the fore at every step in the research process. Research ethics begins with the researcher&#039;s interest in the topic and is a comprehensive phenomenon that frames the entire research process. In this process, universal and local ethical principles are the most important guide for the researcher. At the same time, researchers&#039; consideration of moral values accepted by the scientific community prevents potential problems and improves the quality of research. Despite all these, it is possible to experience ethical contradictions specific to the subject, time or place. In this article, we discussed the concept of research ethics in the context of social science research. We shared universal ethical principles and values that should be considered in the study. We examined the phenomenon of ethics in internet-based research and discussed the issue of ethical dilemmas in depth by including concepts related to ethics. This study aims to examine research ethics within the social sciences&#039; scope and share ethical values that will guide researchers.</p></trans-abstract>
