Logistics Sector gained momentum with the effect of globalization and had a bigger share within Turkish economy. In this study, the progress and the current status of the Logistics Sector in Turkish Economy have been determined primarily. The purpose of this study is to reveal the structure of the logistics sector by applying input and output models. Therefore this study is based on input and output charts published by TUIK (Turkish Statistical Institute) in 2012. The related analysis showed us that the Logistics Sector is the key sector as well as the main metal sector in Turkish Economy. In order to conclude as so direct and indirect production effects belonged to this sector have been counted up and also it has been identified that the logistics sector is in intense interaction with all other sectors in the country. Another outcome of this study showed that the logistics sector operates both direct and indirect production elements in a balanced way. On the other hand, the multipliers of employment have been taken into consideration as well. It seems that the logistics sector comes as the third sector in terms of multipliers of employment. In light of the facts above, the investment to the Logistics Sector would result in a high impact to Turkish Economy as well as it would lead in struggling with unemployment in Turkey.
