                            <p>In this study, the fundamental parameters affecting channel capacity in Intelligent Reflecting Surface (IRS)-assisted Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) systems are investigated. In line with the increasing data rate requirements, the role of millimeter-wave (mmWave) frequency bands in wireless communication systems is examined, and the propagation losses and atmospheric effects occurring in these frequency bands are evaluated. In particular, the impact of environmental factors such as rainfall on mmWave communication is analyzed, and the effect of rain attenuation on system performance is investigated. In addition, an-assisted communication system is considered in scenarios where the direct line-of-sight between the transmitter and receiver is weak. Through numerical simulations, the effects of parameters such as the number of IRS elements, the number of transmit antennas, IRS location, and rainfall intensity on the achievable capacity are evaluated. The obtained results show that IRS-assisted systems can significantly improve system performance by increasing the channel capacity, particularly in mmWave communication environments.</p></trans-abstract>
                                                                                                                                    <abstract><p>Bu çalışmada Akıllı Yansıtıcı Yüzey (AYY) destekli Çok Girdili Çok Çıktılı (Multiple-Input Multiple-Output, MIMO) sistemlerinde kanal kapasitesini etkileyen temel parametreler incelenmiştir. Artan veri hızı gereksinimleri doğrultusunda milimetre dalga (mmWave) frekans bantlarının kablosuz haberleşme sistemlerindeki rolü ele alınmış ve bu frekans bantlarında ortaya çıkan yayılım kayıpları ile atmosferik etkiler değerlendirilmiştir. Özellikle yağış gibi çevresel faktörlerin mmWave haberleşme üzerindeki etkileri incelenmiş ve yağmur zayıflamasının sistem performansı üzerindeki etkisi analiz edilmiştir. Ayrıca, doğrudan görüş hattının zayıf olduğu senaryolarda kanal koşullarını iyileştirmek amacıyla AYY destekli haberleşme sistemi ele alınmıştır. Gerçekleştirilen sayısal simülasyonlar ile AYY eleman sayısı, iletim yapan anten sayısı, AYY konumu ve yağış şiddeti gibi parametrelerin erişilebilir kapasite üzerindeki etkileri değerlendirilmiştir. Elde edilen sonuçlar, AYY destekli sistemlerin özellikle mmWave haberleşme ortamında kanal kapasitesini artırarak sistem performansını önemli ölçüde iyileştirdiğini göstermektedir.</p></abstract>
