Bibliometric Analysis of Turkish Endodontic Journal

Abstract

Türk Endodonti Dergisinin Bibliyometrik Analizi Amaç: Türk Endodonti Dergisi (TED), dünya çapında endodonti alanında eğitim, araştırma ve uygulamayı teşvik etmek için literatüre en yüksek standartta veri sağlamayı amaçlayan bir dergidir. Bu çalışmanın amacı diş hekimliği alanında ulusal yayın profilinin sunumuna katkı sağlamak amacıyla TED tarafından yayınlanan tüm makalelerin bibliyometrik profilini ortaya koymaktır. Gereç ve Yöntemler: TED'de yayınlanan tüm çalışmalar listelendi. Yayınların adı, yayın yılı, yazar sayısı, sorumlu yazar kurumları, sorumlu yazar ülkesi, makale türü, makale konusu, atıf sayısı, makalenin gönderim ve kabul tarihleri sınıflandırılarak Excel paket programına (Microsoft) kaydedilmiştir. Jamovi Yazılımı ile frekans analizi ve tanımlayıcı istatistikler yapılmıştır. Bulgular: Toplam 92 çalışmaya ulaşılmış, 85 çalışma çalışmaya dahil edilmiştir. Yayınlanan çalışmaların büyük çoğunluğu araştırma makaleleri iken (n=56, %65,9), azınlığı derleme makaleleridir (n=3, %3,5). Makale başına en fazla atıf 2,5±2,42 ile 2017 yılında bulundu. Konuların çoğu endodontik tedavi ve komplikasyonlarla (n=20, %25) ve azınlıkta ağrı teşhisi ve tedavisiyle (n=3, %1) ilgiliydi. Yükleme ile kabule kadar geçen ortalama süre 64,43 ± 53,33 idi. Sonuç: TED yeni bir dergi olmasına rağmen her yıl düzenli olarak yayınlanmaktadır. Muhtemelen yeni dizinler ve daha kısa gönderim-kabul süreleri nedeniyle dergiye olan ilgi son yıllarda artmıştır. Anahtar Kelimeler: Bibliyometrik analiz; endodonti; Türk Endodonti Dergisi Bibliometric Analysis of Turkish Endodontic Journal Background:Turkish Endodontic Journal (TEJ) is a journal that aims to provide the highest standard of data to the literature in order to promote education, research, and practice in the field of endodontics worldwide. The aim of this study was to present the bibliometric profile of all articles published by the TEJ in order to contribute to the presentation of the national publication profile in the field of dentistry. Materials and Methods: All studies published in the TEJ were listed. The name of the publications, publication year, number of authors, principal author institutions, principal author country, article type, article topic, number of citations, submission and acceptance dates of the article were classified and saved in the Excel software package (Microsoft). Frequency analysis and descriptive statistics were performed with Jamovi Software. Results: A total of 92 studies were reached and 85 studies were included in the study. While the majority of the published studies were research articles (n=56, 65.9%), the minority were review articles (n=3, 3.5%). The most citation per article was found in 2017, with 2.5±2.42. Most topics were related to endodontic treatment and complications (n=20, 25%), and a minority to pain diagnosis and management (n=3, 1%). The average time from submission to acceptance was 64.43 ± 53.33. Conclusion: Despite being a novel journal, TEJ has been published regularly every year. Interest in the journal has increased in recent years, probably due to new indexes and shorter submission-acceptance time periods.
