Abstract

Approaches to maintaining oral and dental health in children extend beyond conventional dental treatment, encompassing the regulation and balance of the oral microbiota. In recent years, the growing scientific interest in biotic agents has substantially contributed to the development of preventive and supportive interventions in pediatric dentistry. Biological strategies are highlighted for their potential to support the management of common oral health issues in children and for the significance of their integration into long-term clinical practice. This review critically examines the current evidence regarding microbiota-based biotic approaches and explores their potential applications in pediatric dentistry.
