While the events in Gaza dominate the media, which has the power to shape perceptions on any given topic, it is becoming increasingly important for media organizations to pursue the truth without reflecting their own perspectives. Differences in content have occurred, especially after the United Nations described the events in Gaza as “genocide.” Considering the followers of Western media, the evaluation of the news produced here, both in terms of form and content, is also frequently discussed. In other words, while Western media presents what is happening in the world to people, different researchers also examine how the content in Western media is created. In this study, using the news framing method, three episodes from the series “Along the Greenline” and a single episode titled “On the Ground” from “The Guardian” news channel are evaluated based on the views of different social scientists on the modern era and conflicts. Thoughts are reproduced and brought to the agenda through framing, which is also explained as a construction process. Presentation is achieved through thematic classification using framing. The framing of the news in this study consists of othering and the normalization of insensitivity.
İstediği konu ile ilgili algı oluşturma gücüne sahip medyada Gazze’de yaşananlar geniş bir yer kaplarken, medya organlarının kendi perspektiflerini yansıtmadan gerçeğin peşine düşmeleri giderek daha fazla önem kazanmaktadır. Özellikle Birleşmiş Milletler’in Gazze’de yaşananları “soykırım” olarak değerlendirmesinden sonra içeriklerde farklılıklar meydana gelmiştir. Batı Medyası’nın takipçileri düşünüldüğünde; burada üretilen haberlerin gerek biçimsel gerek içerik olarak değerlendirilmeleri de sıklıkla gündeme gelmektedir. Başka bir deyişle; Batı Medyası dünyada olup bitenleri insanlara sunarken, farklı araştırmacılar da Batı Medyası’ndaki içeriklerin nasıl oluşturulduğunu ele almaktadır. Bu çalışmada da haber çerçeveleme yöntemi ile “The Guardian” haber kanalı özelinde “Yeşil Hat Boyunca (Along the Greenline)” serisindeki üç bölüm ve “Sahada (On the Ground)” isimli tek parçadan oluşan yayın farklı sosyal bilimcilerin modern çağ ve çatışmalar ile ilgili görüşlerinden yola çıkılarak değerlendirilmektedir. Bir inşa süreci olarak da açıklanan çerçeveleme ile düşünceler yeniden üretilmekte ve gündeme gelmektedir. Çerçeveleme ile tematik sınıflandırma yapılarak sunum gerçekleştirilmektedir. Çalışmanın haber çerçevelerini ötekileştirme ve duyarsızlığın normalleştirilmesi oluşturmaktadır.
