The Multidimensional Role of Social Work in Disaster Response

Öz

This review article discusses the multidimensional roles of social work in disaster preparedness, response, and recovery. The literature on the subject has been searched, and qualified publications offering comprehensive information have been reached. The results obtained were evaluated and incorporated into this study. In particular, studies that will create a roadmap for implementation are included and presented with implementation examples. It provides a comprehensive evaluation of social work interventions across the micro, mezzo, and macro dimensions in the field of disaster. Information is provided about social work interventions that are appropriate for the needs of individuals, families, communities, and society in times of disaster. The roles and functions of social workers in disasters have been emphasized, and information has been reinforced with practical examples. In conclusion, the article highlights the importance of social work interventions in both preparation and crisis response, and the recovery processes in times of disasters.

Afetlere Müdahalede Sosyal Hizmetin Çok Boyutlu Rolü

Öz

Bu derleme makalesi, afet öncesi hazırlık, afet sırası ve sonrasında sosyal hizmetin çok boyutlu rollerini ele almaktadır. Konu ile ilişkili literatür taranmış, kapsamlı bilgiler sunan nitelikli yayınlara ulaşılmış; elde edilen sonuçlar değerlendirilerek bu çalışmaya aktarılmıştır. Özellikle uygulamaya yol haritası oluşturacak çalışmalara yer verilmiş ve uygulama örnekleriyle beraber sunulmuştur. Çalışma, sosyal hizmetin afet alanındaki; mikro, mezzo, makro boyuttaki müdahaleleriyle ilgili kapsamlı bir değerlendirme sunmaktadır. Afet durumunda birey, aile, topluluk ve toplum ihtiyaçlarına uygun sosyal hizmet müdahaleleri hakkında bilgi verilmiştir. Afetlerde sosyal hizmet uzmanlarının rol ve fonksiyonları üzerinde durularak, uygulama örnekleriyle bilgiler pekiştirilmiştir. Sonuç olarak makale; afet durumlarında sosyal hizmet müdahalelerinin hem hazırlık hem de krize müdahale ve iyileşme süreçlerindeki önemini vurgulamaktadır.
