<p>Recent studies have established that miRNAs are crucial for the development and proper functioning of the heart. The heart has many miRNAs expressed due to cardiogenic transcription factors. During cardiovascular diseases, miRNA expression varies significantly and different miRNA expression levels are correlated with specific cardiovascular disorders. This review article provides detailed information about miRNAs, summarizes the available evidence on the correlation of micro-RNAs with both the clinical and subclinical coronary artery disease and highlights the necessity for exploring miRNAs as a potential diagnostic and prognostic biomarker of early CAD.</p></trans-abstract>
