Hypertension is a
major public health issue affecting millions
of people around the world and is also a major risk factor for stroke,
cardiovascular and chronic kidney disease. Lifestyle modifications have been
recommended as a first line approach for both prehypertension and stage 1
hypertension. Yoga had been shown to be one of the most popular therapies in
older hypertensive patients. This study
is carried out with controlled trial of
yoga practice. After 12 weeks of yoga training, the results show that systole of yoga group decreased 13.1
mmHg and diastole of yoga group decreased 6.2 mmHg. Indicators such as BMI,
Waist significantly decreased (p < 0.001). Cholesterol and Triglyceride also significantly decreased (p < 0.05). There is no change for HDL –
C and LDL – C.
