                            <p>Çalışma alanı olan Devrez Çayı Vadisi, Batı Karadeniz Bölümü’nün güneydoğusunda yer almakta olup, yaklaşık 140 kmuzunluğundadır. Vadi tektonik açıdan son derece hareketli bir bölgededir. Saha, Neojen’den günümüze Arap ve Avrasya plakaları arasındayaşanan çarpışma ürünü olarak gelişmeye başlamıştır. Devrez Çayı Vadisi’nin kuzey sınırını Kuzey Anadolu Fay Zonu (KAFZ) oluşturmaktadır.Bölgedeki genç tektonik aktiviteye bağlı olarak, çalışma sahası birçok ana ve tali fay tarafından parçalanmış durumdadır. Çalışmanın amacı;Devrez Çayı Vadi tabanında tektonik özelliklerin seçili morfometrik indisler ile araştırılmasıdır. Bu amaçla, seçili morfometrik indisler veCoğrafi Bilgi Sistemleri (CBS) bir arada kullanılmıştır. Hipsometrik eğri, hipsometrik integral (Hi), akarsu eğim – uzunluk indisi (SL), asimetrifaktörü (AF) ve vadi taban genişliği – vadi yüksekliği oranı (Vf) indislerinden faydalanılmıştır. Morfometrik indislere ait sayısal değerlerin eldeedilmesi ve gerekli olan harita ve altlıkların üretilmesi için ArcGIS 10.0 programı ve özel bir modülü olan Arc Hydro Tools 2.0 kullanılmıştır.Çalışma sonuçları üç grup altında toplanabilir: (I) Seçili indisler ve indislere ait sınıflandırmalar bir arada uyumlu ve anlamlı sonuçlarvermektedir. (II) Güncel olarak, alt havzalar içerisinde, genç tektonik aktiviteye bağlı vadi gelişimi en fazla Kırsakal Havzası ve TosyaHavzası’nda etkindir. (III) Vadi yüksek oranda fay kontrolünde gelişmektedir.</p></trans-abstract>
                                                                                                                                    <abstract><p>The study area is in the southeast area of the West Black Sea Region in Turkey. It is approximately 140 kilometers long, and is called the Devrez River Valley. The study area is located in a tectonically active region. The study area was initiated during the Neogene in the context of continental collision between Arabia and Eurasia. The northern border of study area is over the North Anatolian Fault Zone (NAFZ). In fact all of the study area is affected by and was formed by primary and secondary faults.This study investigates the tectonic properties of the Devrez River Valley with selected morphometric indices. In this paper, morphometric indices and Geographical Information Systems (GIS) are used together. Indices used include: hypsometric curve, hypsometric integral (Hi), stream length–gradient index (SL), drainage basin asymmetry (AF), and ratio of valley–floor width to valley height (Vf). The necessary maps, layers, and calculations of indices were produced with ArcGIS 10.0 and Arc Hydro Tools 2.0. The results of this study can be divided into three groups:(I) Selected indices and their classifications have shown significant and compatible results.(II) The Kırsakal and Tosya sub-basins have the highest value of valley evolution depending on young tectonic activity.(III) The valley has been greatly developed under fault control.</p></abstract>
