OFFICIAL DOCUMENTS AVAILABLE IN STATE RECORDS ABOUT PRINCE SABAHADDİN BEY

Abstract

With this publication, a part of documents attained from the Office of the Prime Minister Ottoman Archives about the life of a sociologist, a politician and an intellectual Sultan Prince Sabahaddin Bey will be shared with academia. Undoubtedly, more documents will be attained in the course of research. Planning to write in the future by adding other documents whose addresses were reached, may be found in the storage but not opened yet, in this publication 44 documents are shared. Fourty three of them were reached from the files available in the Office of the Prime Minister Ottoman Archives and the final one was reached from the documents published by Ahmet Bedevi Kuran. Regarding its importance in revealing Mustafa Kemal Pasha’s opinion about Prince Sabahaddin Bey, this last document is also included due to its integrating significance. Most of the documents are from the period of Sultan Abdulhamid and the Constitutional era during which prosecutions against political activities of Sabahaddin Bey were in operation, two of the documents are from the armistice period and the last one is from the period of War of Independence. It is preferred to publish these documents stating a witness to history in their raw form and no further interpretations were made. With the opinion that an overall interpretation will be much more reliable after the publication of further documents that are going to be attained, document based interpretations are left to other works.

PRENS SABAHADDİN İLE İLGİLİ DEVLET KAYITLARI ARASINDA BULUNAN RESMİ BELGELER

Abstract

Başbakanlık Osmanlı Arşivi belgeleri arasında sosyolog, siyaset ve düşünce adamı Sultanzâde/Prens Sabahattin’ in hayatıyla ilgili ulaşmış olduğumuz belgelerden bir kısmını bu yayınla ilim dünyasıyla paylaşmış olacağız. Araştırdıkça daha çok belgeye ulaşılacağına kuşku yoktur. Adreslerine ulaştığımız halde depoda bulunan ve henüz açılmayan dosyalardaki belgeleri başka bir yayınımızın konusu yapmak üzere bu yayınımızda 44 adet belgeyi paylaşmış bulunuyoruz. Elde edilen kırk dört belgeden kırk üçü Başbakanlık Osmanlı Arşivi’ndeki dosyalardan, sonuncusu ise Ahmet Bedevi Kuran’ın yayınladığı belgeler arasından temin edilmiştir. Mustafa Kemal Paşa’nın Prens Sabahattin ile ilgili kanaatini izhar etmesi bakımından önemli gördüğümüz bu belgeyi diğerlerine ilave etmekte bütünleştirici bir anlam gördük. Belgelerin büyük çoğunluğu Sabahattin’in siyasi faaliyetlerine ilişkin takibatı sırasında Sultan Abdülhamid ve Meşrutiyet  hükûmetleri zamanına, ikisi Mütareke dönemine, sonuncusu ise Milli Mücadele dönemine aittir. Tarihî bir tanıklık ifadesi olan belgeleri ham halleriyle yayınlama yolu tercih edilerek herhangi bir yoruma gidilmemiştir. Daha sonra elde edilerek yayınlanacak belgelerle birlikte yapılacak yorumların daha sağlıklı olacağı düşüncesiyle belgelere dayalı yorumu başka yazılara bırakmış bulunuyoruz.
