Purpose- In this
study, the effects of institutionalisation factors and benchmarking techniques
in Turkish family companies providing service in the food sector on company
performance were put forward with a literature survey.
Methodology- A survey
was applied to the employees of family companies providing service in the food
sector by using a seven-point Likert-type scale consisting of 56 questions, and
160 surveys were evaluated. The survey results were evaluated in the light of
the reliability analyses of the answers, factor analyses, correlation analyses,
and regression analyses by using SPSS.
Findings- The effects of institutionalisation, sustainable management,
and benchmarking on company performance were determined with the applied
analysis technique. As a result, it was determined that institutionalization
and benchmarking techniques have a significant impact on company performance.
Conclusion- In Turkey,
it is necessary for family companies to develop an action plan based on
institutional principles rather than the bossoriented management approach and
take action accordingly. In other words, it is not possible to talk about
institutionalisation without the employment of qualified professionals and
training, along with objective performance evaluation.
