                                                                                                <abstract><p>Amaç: Bu çalışmanın amacı, kalça ve diz artroplastisi uygulanan hastaların tedavi ve bakımlarını planlayan hemşirelik öğrencilerinin eğitiminde kullanılan iki yöntem (kavram haritası ve geleneksel anlatım) ile verilen eğitimlerin bilgi düzeyi üzerine etkisini belirlemektir.Yöntem: Çalışma randomize kontrollü ön-son test müdahale çalışması tasarımında yürütülmüştür. Müdahalesel tasarımda yürütülen araştırma verileri Şubat-Mayıs 2018 tarihleri arasında elde edilmiştir. Kalça ve diz artroplastisi uygulanan hastaların tedavi ve bakım konulu eğitim, müdahale grubuna kavram haritası yöntemi ile kontrol grubuna geleneksel yöntemle verilmiştir. 52 müdahale grubu, 56 kontrol grubu öğrencisi ile çalışma tamamlanmıştır. Araştırma verileri; araştırmacılar tarafından oluşturulan öğrencilerin sosyodemografik özellikler formu, kalça ve diz artroplasti eğitim soruları ile kavram haritası yöntemi ve geleneksel eğitim yöntemine ilişkin görüş soruları ile toplanmıştır.Bulgular: Eğitim öncesi (I. ölçüm) geleneksel yöntemle eğitim alan hemşirelik öğrencilerinin (46,4±15,7) kavram haritası yöntemi ile eğitim alan hemşirelik öğrencilerine göre (53,2±11,7) daha düşük puan aldıkları belirlenmiştir. Eğitimden hemen sonra yapılan II. ölçümde de bilgi puanları arasında fark yokken, bir ay sonra gerçekleştirilen III. ölçümde müdahale ve kontrol grubu arasında anlamlı fark bulunmuştur.Uygulamada Kullanım: Kavram haritası yöntemi kullanılarak verilen eğitimlerin öğrencilerin teorik bilgileri hatırlama ve kullanma açısından olumlu yönde etkilediğinden kavram haritası yöntemi hemşirelik öğrencilerinin teorik ve pratik eğitiminde kullanılabilir.  Kavram haritası yöntemi, öğrencilerin öğrenmeyi derinleştirmelerine, bilgiler arasında güçlü bağlantı kurmalarına ve karmaşık bilgileri daha kolay anlamalarına ve teorik bilgilerini klinik hemşirelik becerilerine dönüştürmede yardımcı olabilir.</p></abstract>

                            <p>Background: In order to fulfill their professional roles and responsibilities, nurses should increase the quality of nursing education with an intellectual perspective by constantly learning, updating their existing knowledge, following innovations. Objective: The aim of this study is to determine the effect of training given with two methods (concept map and traditional expression) used in the education of nursing students who plan the treatment and care of patients who underwent hip and knee arthroplasty on the level of knowledge.Methods: The study was conducted in a randomized controlled pre-post test intervention study design. Research data conducted in the interventional design were obtained between February and May 2018. It was given to the intervention group by the concept map method and to the control group by the traditional method. The study was completed with 52 intervention group and 56 control group students. Data were collected with sociodemographic characteristics form, hip and knee arthroplasty training questions, concept map method and opinion questions regarding the traditional training method.Results: It was determined that the group that received education with the traditional method (46,4±15,7) before the education (measurement I) scored lower than the group that received the education with the concept map method (53,2±11,7). II, which was held immediately after the training. A significant difference was found between the experimental and control groups in the measurement. III. Use in Practice: Since the trainings given using the concept map method positively affect the students in terms of recall and use of theoretical knowledge, the concept map method can be used in the theoretical and practical education of nursing students.  Concept map methods can help students deepen learning, make strong connections between information, and understand complex information more easily, and transform their theoretical knowledge into clinical nursing skills.</p></trans-abstract>
