<p>The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between health sciences faculty students&#039; perceptions of internship practice and their task performance. The study involved 78 students who completed the internship program at Toros University Faculty of Health Sciences. Students&#039; demographic characteristics, perceptions of the internship practice, and its impact on task performance were assessed using survey questions. Data were collected using the Intern Practice Scale, Task Performance Scale, and Job Performance Scale. Statistical analysis was conducted using the SPSS 22.0 software. The study, involving 78 students who completed the internship program at Toros University Faculty of Health Sciences, revealed that internship practices and their sub-dimensions—learning gains, mentoring, and guidance—had a significant and positive impact on task performance. Students&#039; perceptions of their task performance indicated high levels of competency (94.9%), understanding and fulfillment of job-related procedures (92.3%), willingness to acquire new skills (88.5%), and adherence to organized and timely task completion (94.9%). These findings underscore the beneficial role of internship experiences in enhancing students&#039; abilities and performance within the healthcare sector. The study determined that internship practices and their sub-dimensions—learning gains, mentoring, and guidance—positively and significantly influenced task performance. Based on these findings, recommendations are proposed for educators and policymakers to enhance the design and implementation of effective internship programs. These initiatives aim to further leverage internship experiences to bolster students&#039; task performance and overall professional development within the field of health sciences.</p></trans-abstract>
