The Relationship Between Healthcare Workers’ Social Well-Being and Their Turnover Intention
Öz
This study aimed to examine whether healthcare workers’ social well-being and turnover intentions vary according to descriptive characteristics, and to investigate the relationship between these two variables. The research was conducted with 146 healthcare workers employed at a private hospital. Data were collected using the Social Well-Being Scale and the Turnover Intention Scale. According to the findings, the overall mean score for social well-being was 3.78, with the highest subdimension being Social Acceptance (3.84) and the lowest Trust (3.68). The mean score for turnover intention was 2.55, indicating that participants generally had a low tendency to leave their jobs. A significant negative relationship was found between social well-being and turnover intention (p = 0.015). This finding suggests that as social well-being increases, turnover intention decreases. Therefore, the mitigating effect of social well-being on turnover intention can be considered a factor in reducing staff turnover in healthcare institutions.
